We will be judging the results of the “Minty Fresh” building competition and hopefully hearing from members about the displays at various events in June and July.

The early portion of the meeting will be primarily for sorting items to existing members with the correct standing, but later in the meeting will be the usual chatting, showing recent work or works in progress, and the usual socializing.

This weekend you can see TwinLUG a the Midwest Comic Book Association’s SpringCon at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. The convention runs Saturday May 18 and 19, 2013. More information available at the MCBA site.

The Micropolis specification got a fun mention in an article about the ups and downs of using LEGO for urban planning. It’s worth the time to read and great to see our little idea get noticed in so many interesting places.

Our friend Chris Hettinger is starting his own group, IowaLUG, and has invited TwinLUG to display at the launch event on March 16th and 17th at the Science Center of Iowa (SCI). We’ll be there with Micropolis and some other displays and helping out with the group assembly of Chris’s spectacular 60,000 piece model of the SCI building.

It’s a bit of a trip from the Twin Cities but if you know anyone down in the area be sure to mention it to them! More information is available on the SCI event calendar or on their Facebook event page.

This month we plan to discuss parts for the LUGBulk order and what to display at the MCBA SpringCon in May plus the usual general chatter.

While the website hasn’t been updated in awhile, just to let people know that we are definitely still around. I’m setting up the meeting notices this weekend and hope to keep up with other notes about things going on in and around the group. Heck, maybe someone else in the group will help out!
