40125 Santa’s Visit

40125-1

There are three small seasonal sets in the LEGO store this week. The best one, at least from my POV, is 40125 Santa’s Visit. It’s a 167 part set for 10 bucks which makes a little 8×8 vignette of Santa arriving with prezzies for the kiddies. The cat looks on, wondering if Santa’s going to be a pig and eat both cookies. There’s a fireplace with blocky stockings hung. The table is ok and so is the tree but the armchair is much nicer. I like the cat a lot. It appears in a small Friends set and the Detective’s Office. I didn’t buy the Friends set, not much of interest in it to me, and the Detective’s Office set is a set I wouldn’t necessarily buy. I have a tendency to stick to buying sets under 100 bucks, for a number of reasons.

I hope Santa isn’t going to eat that cat. Probably not, huh. Here’s the product description from LEGO.

6000311Besides the good price per part, about 6 cents each, the prize in the set is the 23 1×2 dark blay brick bricks. Nice to have a bunch of those. Most of the other pieces are in quantities of 1 to 4 but they’re all still useful parts. The 12 1×2 dark tan bricks are also a nice addition to my building stock. It seemed to be selling well at the store, the shelf was filled twice when I was there Wednesday. Get ’em while you can.
